Scott Peachy is here to teach you that Data governance isn’t something that should scare you, and shouldn’t be something that costs you an arm and a leg. If you are looking to learn how to govern your data through a hyper-focused service-oriented approach, then why not learn from an Award Winning Program!

Recently, Nationwide was awarded the 2019 DGIQ Best Practices award, and this presentation will give you a taste of this was accomplished at Nationwide. Scott will touch on service offerings, communication, how to market your DG program, and why critical data elements should be your focus.

We kick off at 5:30 pm with some beer and networking, then Scott will begin his presentation at 6:00 pm sharp. The presentation and Q + A session wraps up at 7:00 pm, but you're more than welcome to hang out after for some more networking and another beer (or two).

Meetup at Hopewell @ 5:30 pm
Brews at Wolfs Ridge @ 7:00 pm

Join us for our second meetup at Hopewell works with speaker Rebecca Carter on March 26th at 5:30 pm (new time). Rebecca will be covering crowdsourcing, and how the collection and use of this data can help you become more cost-effective and efficient.

We will provide beer, refreshments, and time to network before Rebecca's speech at 6:00 pm

Afterward, whoever would like to continue networking, has any more questions or just wants to stick around for another beer, we will move to Wolfs Ridge Brewing where AWH will buy a round for the remaining attendees!

“Crowdsourcing” is the act of allocating work traditionally performed by employees or contractors to an anonymous collection of individuals in the form of an open call. Organized via online platforms such as Crowdflower and Amazon Mechanical Turk, these crowds have an incredible capacity for tackling diverse and complex problems at scale.

Crowdsourcing is a powerful and efficient model for idea generation, research, prediction, and leveraging previously inaccessible resources. However, unique implementation challenges come with engaging the crowd. Overlooking or poorly addressing these challenges can detrimentally impact the quality of outcomes and experiences for everyone involved.

This talk will feature best practices and pitfalls that can come with reaching these anonymous online distributed networks, and accurately collecting and analyzing the data received. We’ll go into a deep dive of design paradigms for cost-effective, efficient, and reproducible crowdsourcing initiatives such as micro-tasks and voting.

CreativeMornings Columbus: Community

Join us on Friday, August 17th as Marshall L. Shorts Jr. of Artfluential takes the CM/CLB stage and shares with us what #community means to him!

See you there!

FREE tickets for the breakfast lecture will be released on Monday, August 13th and can be reserved by following this link >>>https://creativemornings.com/talks/marshall-shorts
_____

ABOUT THE THEME- "Community"

A community is a reflection of what we crave: belonging.

Belonging is the heart of human connection. Our hardwiring is to be social creatures, to need one another. We cannot become our best selves without feeling like we belong to a tribe that sees us, respects us, and lifts us up.

A sense of belonging can be fostered in many ways: food, music, volunteering, a cause. You can scan a room and see a diversity of backgrounds, ages, and skill sets—yet the common thread is shared desires and aspirations. It's magnificently profound how simple this connection is, how deeply we all crave it, and how it changes the trajectory of our lives.

The work of community is when a person walks into a room with fear and self-doubt, only to leave with a new narrative and a feeling of possibility and hope.

We can give that experience to one another. It's the work of being human.

This month's global exploration of Community was chosen by our Philadelphia chapter and illustrated by James Olstein.
_____

ABOUT THE SPEAKER- Marshall Shorts

Marshall—a Cleveland native and a proud husband and father—is an award winning entrepreneur, artist, designer and organizer with a passion for creativity. With over 10 years of experience in the field of design. His creative passion is only rivaled by his commitment to being an agent of change for his community.

He is Founder of Artfluential, a boutique branding and design agency, and co-founder of Creative Control Fest which is a conference that centers Black creatives who participate or aspire to be a part of the ever growing creative class.

In 2014 Marshall won the Increase CDC small business award in the communications category and co-authored his first book— From This Moment On...Personal Reminders for Success At Work, At Play, and In the Shower. In 2016 he gave his first TEDx Columbus talk, which was recognized by the National TEDx organization. 2017 was another year of milestones as Marshall was the recipient of the CCAD Alumni Award and Greater Columbus Arts Council, Emerging Arts Leader Award.

–––––

ABOUT THE TALK

Sticks in a bundle are unbreakable.

Building creative communities is building community. The ultimate measure of a community is not in times of comfort and convenience, but where the community stands in times of challenge and controversy.

––––––
